Richard L. Averitte, Jr., MD
Mohs Micrographic Surgery, Medical and Surgical Dermatology

Dr. Richard L. Averitte, Jr. is the founding physician of Affiliated Dermatology®, which was established in July of 2002.  Dr. Averitte received his Undergraduate Degree from the Ohio University and his Medical Degree was granted by the Medical College of Ohio.  Dr. Averitte completed his Internship in Internal Medicine at Summa Health System.  Dr. Averitte completed his Dermatology Residency at Case Western Reserve University Hospitals of Cleveland.   He served as the Chief Resident in Dermatology at Case Western Reserve University Hospitals of Cleveland. Dr. Averitte is Clinical Assistant Professor, Department of Pathology, College of Medicine and Life Sciences at University of Toledo. Dr. Averitte is the founder of the Arizona Skin Cancer Foundation and board member of the American Liver Foundation, Southwest Division.  Professional memberships include American Academy of Dermatology and American Society for Mohs Surgery. Dr. Averitte is also a member of the Ventana 2013 Tucson Symposium, Melanoma Advisory Board.
 
Christine C. Lin, MD
Mohs Micrographic Surgery, Medical and Surgical Dermatology

Dr. Christine Lin joined Affiliated Dermatology® in December, 2005 after practicing in Westlake Village, California for four years.  Her Undergraduate Degree was received from  Massachusets Institute of Technology and her Medical Degree was granted by the University of Southern California Keck School of Medicine.  Her Internship in Internal Medicine was completed at UCLA-San Fernando Valley Program in Sylmar, California.   Dr Lin completed her Dermatology Residency at Case Western Reserve University Hospitals of Cleveland.  She served as the Chief Resident in Dermatology at Case Western Reserve University Hospitals of Cleveland.   Dr Lin is Board Certified by the American Board of Dermatology.  Professional memberships include Fellow, American Academy of Dermatology, American Society for Mohs Surgery and American Society for Dermatologic Surgery.
 
Jason A. Barr, DO

Dr Jason Barr joined Affiliated Dermatology® in July of 2006. Dr. Barr received his Doctorate of Osteopathic Medicine at Midwestern University, Arizona College of Osteopathic Medicine. His Internal Medicine Internship was completed at The Reading Hospital and Medical Center Reading Pennsylvania. Dr Barr completed his Dermatology Residency at Arizona Desert Dermatology Midwestern University in Kingman, Arizona.  Dr. Barr is Board Certified by the American Osteopathic Board of Dermatology.  Professional memberships include American Osteopathic College of Dermatology, American Academy of Dermatology, American Osteopathic Association and American Medical Association.
 
Yebabe M. Mengesha, MD
Dermatopathology, Medical and Surgical Dermatology

Dr. Yebabe Mengesha joined Affiliated Dermatology® in October 2007.  He received his Medical Degree from University of Arizona College of Medicine in Tucson, Arizona.  Dr. Mengesha completed a Transitional Internship at Banner Good Samaritan Regional Medical Center in Phoenix, Arzona and completed his Dermatology Residency at Wake Forest University School of Medicine in Winston Salem, North Carolina.  Dr. Mengesha also completed a Dermatopathology Fellowship with Bernard Ackerman, MD at Columbia University St. Luke’s Roosevelt Hospital Center New York, New York.  Dr. Mengesha is Board Certified by the American Board of Dermatology and the American Board of Dermatopathology/Pathology.  Professional memberships include the American Medical Association, American Academy of Dermatology, International Society of Dermatopathology, and American Society of Dermatopathology.
 
Sarah I. Estrada, MD
Dermatopathology


Dr. Sarah Estrada joined Affiliated Dermatology ® in October 2008.  She received her undergraduate degree from the University of California, Santa Cruz and her Medical degree from Tulane University School of Medicine.  Dr. Estrada completed an Anatomic and Clinical Pathology residency and served as chief resident at St. Joseph’s Hospital and Medical Center in Phoenix.  She completed a dermatopathology fellowship at the Medical University of South Carolina in Charleston.  Dr. Estrada is board certified in Dermatopathology, Anatomic Pathology and Clinical Pathology.  Professional memberships include the American Medical Association, The American Society of Dermatopathology, The International Society of Dermatopathology, The College of American Pathologists and Alpha Omega Alpha Medical Honor Society.
 
Debi B. Layton, MD

Dr. Debi B. Layton joined Affiliated Dermatology® in July 2009.  She received her Medical Degree from University of Arizona College of Medicine in Tucson, Arizona.  Dr. Layton completed an Internal Medicine Internship at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Phoenix, Arizona. Dr. Layton completed her Dermatology Residency at New York Medical College and Metropolitan Hospital in New York, New York.  Dr. Layton also completed a Dermatopathology Fellowship at Albert Einstein College of Medicine and Dermpath Diagnostics in Bronx, New York.  Dr. Layton is Board Certified by the American Board of Dermatology and is Board Eligible for the American Board of Dermatopathology/Pathology.  Professional memberships include Fellow, American Academy of Dermatology, Women's Dermatologic Society, American Society for Dermatologic Surgery, American Society of Dermatopathology, and College of American Pathologists.
 

Travis S. Lam, DO

Dr. Travis Lam joined Affiliated Dermatology® August, 2010. He received his Undergraduate Degree in biology at the University of Virginia, Charlottesville, Virginia, as well as a Master’s Degree in biomedical science at Eastern Virginia Medical School in Norfolk, Virginia. Dr. Lam’s Medical Degree was granted by Oklahoma State University in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Dr. Lam completed his traditional internship at University Hospitals Richmond Medical Center in Richmond Heights, Ohio. He completed his Dermatology Residency at University Hospitals Case Western Reserve Medical Center in Cleveland, Ohio. Professional memberships include American Osteopathic College of Dermatology and American Academy of Dermatology.

Brooke Blumetti, DO

Dr. Brooke Blumetti joined Affiliated Dermatology® July, 2011.  She received her Undergraduate Degree in Biology at Ohio University, Athens, Ohio. Dr. Blumetti’s Medical Degree was granted by Ohio University College of Osteopathic Medicine in Athens, Ohio.  Dr. Blumetti completed her traditional rotating internship at University Hospitals Richmond Medical Center in Richmond Heights, Ohio.  She completed her Dermatology Residency at Michigan State University Pontiac Osteopathic Hospital in Pontiac, Michigan.  Professional memberships include American Academy of Dermatology, American Osteopathic College of Dermatology, American Society for Dermatologic Surgery and Women’s Dermatologic Society.

Christle J. Layton, MD
Medical and Surgical Dermatology

Dr. Christle J. Layton joined Affiliated Dermatology® in September 2012. She received her undergraduate degree in Physiology with minors in Chemistry and Spanish from the University of Arizona in Tucson, Arizona and during that time she also studied in Alcala de Henares, Spain. Dr. Layton then earned her medical degree at Stanford University School of Medicine in Palo Alto, California. In the following year, she completed an Internal Medicine Internship at Stanford Medical Center. Dr. Layton completed her Dermatology Residency at Tufts Medical Center in Boston, MA where she was Chief Resident.  Dr. Layton is board certified by the American Board of Dermatology.  Professional affiliations include the American Academy of Dermatology and Women's Dermatologic Society.  

Genevieve L. Egnatios, MD
Medical and Surgical Dermatology


Dr. Genevieve L. Egnatios joined Affiliated Dermatology®  in September, 2012. She received her undergraduate degree in Physics and Economics from Wellesley College in Wellesley, Massachusetts. After a career in the computer software industry, she attended Eastern Virginia Medical School in Norfolk, Virginia where she obtained her medical degree.  Dr. Egnatios completed her transitional internship and dermatology residency at Mayo Clinic in Scottsdale, Arizona and served as chief resident. She is board certified in dermatology by the American Board of Dermatology. Professional memberships include the American Academy of Dermatology, the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society, and the American Medical Association.

Brooke G. Jeffy, MD
Medical and Surgical Dermatology


Dr. Brooke Grant Jeffy joined Affiliated Dermatology® in September 2012. She received her undergraduate degree in Biology from the University of Kentucky in Lexington, Kentucky in 1998 and her Medical Degree from the University of Louisville in Louisville, Kentucky in 2004.  Dr. Jeffy completed her residency training at the University of Louisville.  There she completed two years of training in Pathology and a preliminary year in Internal Medicine before starting her training in Dermatology, which she completed in 2011. Dr. Jeffy is board certified by the American Board of Dermatology and a member of the American Academy of Dermatology. 

Jena Auerbach, DO
Dermatopathology

Dr. Auerbach joined Affiliated Dermatology® in October 2012.  Dr. Auerbach received her Doctorate of Osteopathic Medicine at Midwestern University/Arizona College of Osteopathic Medicine.  Her pathology residency was completed at Albert Einstein College of Medicine/Montefiore Medical Center in Bronx, New York where she also served as chief resident.   Dr. Auerbach also completed a dermatopathology fellowship at Albert Einstein College of Medicine and Dermpath Diagnostics in Bronx, NY and Portchester, NY.  Dr. Auerbach is board certified in anatomic pathology, clinical pathology, and dermatopathology.  Professional memberships include College of American Pathologists and American Osteopathic Association.
